Mission for Community Development (MCODE)

CanAssist Volunteers Visit MCODE

On 10th/Oct/2014, MCODE hosted William, Raw-Ann and Catherine, volunteers from CanAssist Africa Relief Trust from Canada for an exploratory Mission to our proposed project of reconstructing of a primary school on Busagazi Island, one of the few schools on the Island. The school has seven classes but with two classrooms which leads to the remaining five classes to be conducted under tree shades. Photos here show the status of the school classes being conducted and the visitors to MCODE. Besides all that, the school population is over 380 pupils after dropouts of over 50%.

After the approval of a grant to reconstruct a few classrooms for a school on Busagazi Island, volunteers from CanAssist Africa Relief Trust visited MCODE to better know more about the school.  MCODE applied for support from CanAssist Trust and luckily enough the grant approved, at least two more classrooms will be added to the school to reduce the number of classes conducted under tree shades

Thank you CanAssist African Relief Trust! ♥
